Winston Cortez Ward, Founder, CEO, and Holistic Wellness Coach of Cortez Training Center (CTC), transformed a life of adversity into a mission of service and healing. A U.S. Army veteran and holistic health advocate, he holds advanced certifications in yoga, fitness, and Reiki, alongside degrees in health science and public health. Through CTC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Cortez empowers individuals and communities with wellness programs, while raising awareness on critical health issues such as G6PD and Alzheimer’s.

Simone Ward serves as President, COO, and Board Member of CTC, where she applies her expertise to drive data-informed strategy, enhance staff development, and improve organizational outcomes. She holds a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and brings over seven years of experience in talent analytics, workforce assessment, and program evaluation across corporate, nonprofit, and academic settings. A lifelong advocate for personal growth and team performance, Simone’s passion for holistic wellness is rooted in her years as a competitive softball player. As both a seasoned professional and the founder’s spouse, she contributes strategic vision and personal dedication to advancing CTC’s mission. 

Yolanda Sands is the Vice President and Board Member of CTC and a retired military spouse, with a background in small business ownership in Cosmetology. Currently working full-time as a medical receptionist and screener, she also serves as a certified health and nutrition coach. Yolanda brings a deeply rooted passion for helping others transform their lives through practical meal planning, wellness education, and lifestyle support. Her lived experience, leadership, and dedication to service enrich the heart of CTC’s mission. 

Barbara Walker brings over a decade of expertise in accounting and finance, with seven years managing federal and state discretionary grants. Skilled in grant development, compliance, fund tracking, and OMB-aligned reporting, she has supported nonprofits, universities, and community groups with applications, audits, and closeouts. Holding an M.S. in Accountancy and certificates in CPA Bridge and Grant Writing, she is pursuing a PhD in Organizational Leadership to enhance her leadership in funding management.
